Oklahoma Christian Home Educators Consociation (OCHEC) is statewide organization providing encouragement and support to those who endeavor to faithfully train and educate their children at home. They host the statewide homeschool convention, coordinate Capitol Day, and provide many useful resources. Contact OCHEC for more information.
Premier Kidz is a program for homeschool children interested in trying different sports. It is available from September thru April. Each month a different sport is arranged with a location and teachers. You can pick and choose which (or all) sports that you want to participate in. Past sports have included golf, tennis, bowling, fencing, karate, gymnastics, swimming, and Pump It Up.

Oklahoma Homeschool Moms Information Network is a Yahoo Groups Digest serving families in the Metro OKC area and beyond, offering information and resources, beyond the scope of local support groups, received as a Daily Digest to keep you informed and encouraged. MOMS Night Out hosted by Kara Allen on the 4th Tuesday of the month at Panera Bread at 15th & Bryant around 7pm. This is a great time to come and ask questions of other homeschool moms. Contact Kara for more information.
Educating for Life is a group that concentrates on fostering a love of learning, viewing education as a lifestyle rather than methods of schooling. They focus on helping parents become mentors of their children, and using literature as the main teaching tool rather than predesigned curriculum. Members consider themselves a part of a community rather than a support group. There is a large email loop in addition to regular meetings taught by Cheryl Lange and others.
Mardel Christian & Educational Supply is a great resource for homeschool supplies and curriculum. They are located at the corner of Boulevard & 33rd Street in Edmond.
Textbook Exchange is also very helpful with Bob Jones, Abeka, Alpha Omega, Saxon and some other miscellaneous resources. The lady in the homeschool room is named Bonnie Crabb and you can call her at 478-2434 usually between the hours of 1-4pm, M - F.
Home School Legal Defense Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedoms. Through annual memberships, HSLDA is tens of thousands of families united in service together, providing a strong voice when and where needed. Contact HSLDA for more information. **You can receive a discouted membership when you join our group and use OCHEC's code number.
Cub Scouts has a homeschool pack that meets in Edmond. If you have a boy between 1st & 5th grade come check out scouting. Our Pack only meets twice a month with periodic field trips (the 1st grade group only meets once a month with periodic field trips). Our meetings are on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month. Special events include: pinewood derby races, space derby races, family camp out, Laser Quest Day, and many more. Meetings are at 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Memorial Road Mennonite Brethren Church on the corner of Memorial Road & Coltrane. Check out the Pack 1 website to learn more .
Incredible Pizza has once every other month Homeschool Days from 11am- 1pm. Each time there is a different educational topic with many hands on displays, experiments, activities, etc. Contact Incredible Pizza at 721-0038 to see when the next date will be.
